FC Barcelona vs Real Sociedad : predicted lineups
Barcelona won their midweek match against Roma with an easy 6-1, with Lionel Messi scoring a brace and assisting for yet another goal to show that he is back on track. The Catalans look formidable at the moment as they defeated Real Madrid in the last round and, chiefly led by their attacking trio known as ‘MSN’, created a reassuring gap at the top of the table. Real Sociedad is their next opponent for today’s match, and although the Basque club looked confident under Eusebio Sacristan in their win against Sevilla last week, it’s hard to predict that they stand a chance at Camp Nou against such a ferocious opponent.
Of course, they won’t be subdued so easily – they know that they deserve better than a current 14th place they are holding, and, as Sergio Canales said, they ‘hope to play a good match against Barcelona, who are currently a team in the best form in the world’. Returns of Oier and Oyarzun, albeit they are not a regular first team players, could motivate the Basque side and give Sacristan some comfortable zone. However, Asier Illaramendi will be suspended, and Zurutuza, Jonathas and Zaldua remain injured.
As for Barcelona, they are still without the presence of Douglas and Rafinha, and fitness of Javier Mascherano, who was slightly injured in El Clasico match, is yet to be tested.
