Luis Suarez on Barcelona teammates Lionel Messi and Neymar
Barcelona forward Luis Suarez just turned 29 on Sunday and he has reacted saying he is confident that he is in the best form of his career before the Athletic Bilbao visit in the second leg of their Copa del Rey quarter-final tie on Wednesday.
The combative Uruguay international was recently suspended for Barca’s last two Cup games owing to his part in a fracas after the last 16 match, first leg clash against Espanyol but his enforced absence has done really little to tarnish his handsome statistics for the Spanish and European champions in 2015-16 season.
Suarez is a major part of Barca’s formidable South American attacking trio alongside the Argentina captain Lionel Messi and Neymar.
“Both on and off the pitch we get on marvellously and nobody thinks they are better than the other which is the most important thing,” Suarez spoke on Barca’s website about his relationship with Lionel Messi and Neymar on Saturday.
“We are more focused on the collective and the group,” he further added.
Former Spain international Gaizka Mendieta also believes that Neymar can eventually follow in the footsteps of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo and achieve history.
The Brazil superstar has really enjoyed an astonishingly prolific season to brag at Barcelona thus far and Gaizka Mendieta has substantially backed the Blaugrana striker to match the historic opponent.
The Barcelona superstar recently joined the Ballon d’Or alongside his team-mate Messi and rival Ronaldo and at 23 – which happens to be five years younger than the Argentine and even more unbelievable seven younger than the Real Madrid star – he has age on his side, practically speaking.
And Mendieta has supported the Brazil captain to emulate the formidable pair, though he has sincerely urged him to remain humble if he is to do so eventually.
“Ronaldo and Messi already made history and Neymar will do that, too,” he said in an interview. “But talent is nothing without humility and the motivation to thrive for perfection. That’s all they want.
