Manchester City say they did not make a formal bid for Neymar Jr.
Manchester city say they did not make any formal bid for the Brazil Super Star Neymar Jr. to his former club Santos Fc. Manchester city left the field open for Real Madrid and Barcelona Fc to fight it out over Neymar Jr. transfer. This was revealed by Manchester City upon the request of the Spanish Court. The Spanish Court in the case of Neymar Jr. transfer to Barcelona from Santos had requested Manchester City and other European clubs to reveal the amount of bid which they had put on Neymar Jr. for his transfer from Santos Fc.
Manchester City say they did not make any formal bid on the player, while Chelsea Fc have not yet responded. Real Madrid however, say that they did make a bid on the Brazilian. Manchester City reveal that they were intersted in Neymar Jr. in 2013 when he was 21 years of age. However, Manchester City say they realised that the real fight for signing Neymar Jr. was between Barcelona Fc and Real Madrid Fc.
Neymar Jr. was signed by Barcelona in 2013. The player caught the attention of big European clubs after his amazing performances in Brazil while playing for Santos Fc. A number of European clubs were interested in signing the Super star, however it was Barcelona Fc who succeded in signing Neymar Jr. There has been a lot of controversy since then, about the signing of Neymar Jr. The main issue has been that Barcelona have allegedly disclosed an amount much less than the real transfer fee. And this has caused legal troubles for Barcelona as well as Neymar Jr. And currently there are court cases going on in Brazil as well as Spain over this alleged transfer fraud involving Neymar Jr.
