Messi, Suarez and Neymar statistics will frighten Arsenal fans
Lionel Messi, Suarez and Neymar– the trio’s superb goal records for Barcelona show just what Arsenal are up against in the next Champions League clash.
The Gunners come up against the Catalan greats on Tuesday night, hoping to complete the near impossible and knock one of the greatest club teams in the history out of the competition.
It presents the serious problem with finishing second in a Champions League group, as not long ago Arsenal were handed the daunting tie amid much buzzes.
Petr Cech, Per Mertesacker, Laurent Koscielny and co will be endowed with the task of keeping out the Blaugrana’s fearsome front trident, who have amassed no less than a staggering 213 goals between them since Suarez joined the squad.
But on stopping MSN, as the three are more popularly known, Wenger said: “I know that individually they have exceptional talent, the only way we can beat them is collectively.
“We have to be resilient, have great solidarity, and be intelligent as well. Let’s not forget that we have a good defensive record and a great goalkeeper as well.”
It might really not be enough.
Even this season, the amazing three have scored an astonishing number of 91 goals between them.
As the pivotal point of the incredibly amazing attacking trio, Suarez is currently enjoying the status of Barca’s top goalscorer. The former Liverpool man has already netted 41 goals this season, in just 37 games.
And in a sign of just what Arsenal will really be up against, that is exactly the same number of total league goals Arsenal have scored.
Granted, the Suarez total stands for all competitions, whereas Arsenal’s total is purely from the tally of Premier League.
So what does Wenger have to say about Messi, Suarez and Neymar ? Well, that they are “not perfect”.
But he added: “They are the most efficient [strike force in the world].
“Messi scored 300 goals in 340 games, I’ve seen many strikers in my life but I’ve never seen a record like that.
“They are top, top class.”
