Neymar faces controversy due to his trip to Brazil
FC Barcelona star Neymar lost his side’s latest La Liga clash through suspension, and dispute has risen once the forward was noticed in Brazil this week.
Firstly, a meeting with Luis Enrique. Then a second with the captains of the team. that is how Neymar negotiated his trip to Brazil once seeing his fifth yellow card in Vallecas, which meant he had to miss Sunday’s game against Eibar. after the 5-1 win over Rayo Vallecano, the Brazilian met the coach to ask permission to leave, with the team set to relish some days off too ahead of their initial free week this year.
According to AS, the Brazilian could have gotten himself suspended purposely so as to be free to take a visit to Brazil for his sister’s birthday, as well as make sure that he would be out there for El Clasico against Real Madrid early next month.
Other reports have claimed that Neymar first mentioned his Brazil visit with Barca boss Luis Enrique and key players within the team, together with Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta and Sergio Busquets, before making the trip to South America.
Incidentally, an equivalent issue happened last season, when the Brazilian was also suspended around the time of his sister’s birthday.
Whether the Brazil captain purposely picked up the suspension or not is unclear, however if he did, it’s possible his club were aware of what he was attempting to achieve.
The ‘planning’ is the same as last season. He was engaged in 2 consecutive league games, (Malaga and Granada), played in the last Cup game against Villarreal and 2 day later visited Brazil for his sister’s birthday.
There were only 3 minutes of play left in Barca’s match against Rayo when Neymar was booked – prior to that caution, he had not received a yellow card in 2 months.
