Neymar Jr and a flashback of his last year
Neymar took his well-deserved place on the FIFA Ballon d’Or podium this Monday, bagging an absolutely stunning year for the now 23-year-old Brazilian. Neymar Jr netted an incredible tally of 41 goals for Barcelona in 2015 and was a major part of the winning of five major trophies, including a Champions League, La Liga and Copa del Rey treble to make the team glitter with success.
He was also the man most likely to undo the Messi-Ronaldo firm grip on football’s top individual award, although he ended up being third in the breathless race and this year has his own signature tournament happening in Neymar Jr’s Five. But life is not always all about silverware and stats – so in order to celebrate let us take a tour through Instagram, Facebook and Twitter – all sorts of social media resource for a unique look back on last year through the eyes of Neymar Jr himself.
2015 began with some really interesting facial hair, a training session along with Lionel Messi and a wish for the New Year: ‘Back to work… Let’s hope it’s a year of victories!’, and it really was.
Neymar turned 23 on February 5 and celebrated righteously with a goal against Athletic Bilbao and perfectly decorated with this Instagram pic of the cake.
Neymar scored a brace as Barcelona reached the Copa del Rey final with the win against Villarreal. But the performance was nothing if compared to the celebration – as Neymar Jr and Dani Alves passionately sang and danced to El Perdón performed by Nicky Jam.
After the impromptu song and cheerful dance session back in March, Barcelona were celebrating yet again at the end of May as they defeated Athletic Bilbao 3–1, with two goals contributed by Lionel Messi and one from Neymar securing the Copa del Rey adding to the glory further.
In July, Neymar spent time with the greatest and also his favorite player in NBA history, Michael Jordan.
The subsequents months were also adorned with Neymar’s incredibly flourishing skills.
Here’s to an even more successful 2016.
