Neymar will miss two Brazil World Cup qualifiers – Court upholds the ban
Neymar will miss two of the Brazil’s upcoming 2018 World Cup qualifiers. Neymar Jr was banned for 4 matches after receiving a red card in Copa America tie against Colombia. The reason for red card was that Neymar Jr. appeared to have kicked the ball towards Pablo Armaro of Colombia. After the referee had blown the final whistle. It also appeared that Neymar had headbutted another player. Then it was reported that Neymar Jr. waited in the tunnel with the intention of abusing match official Enrique Osses.
After the incident Neymar Jr was banned for 4 games of Brazil. 2 of those games were in Copa America. Brazilian Football Confederation had appealed against the ban last month. The purpose of the appeal was to let Neymar Jr. play in the World Cup qualifiers. And the ban to be applied to other games. However now the court has rejected the appeal of the Brazilian Football Confederation. And the court has upheld the ban on Neymar Jr. Now Neymar Jr. will not play in the upcoming world cup qualifiers. Brazil will have to do without their star striker against Chile and Venezuela.
Neymar Jr. has had a really bad week. As the court in Brazil ordered to freeze the assets of the player in tax evasion case. The on pitch performance of the player has not been up to the mark either. And now the ban against the player has been upheld. It would be interesting to see how the bounces back
