Neymar yet to shine in El Clasico!
Brazil is the birth-house of many great names of football, including some of the most prominent ones ever to don the Barcelona shirt, such as Romario, , Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho and of course, the most recent arrival, Neymar. And at Barcelona it is absolutely necessary to do well against the ever rival at Real Madrid. There are footballers who have gone through the collection of the Barcelona club players almost unnoticed, but nonetheless secured a place in the hearts of every Barça fan by doing fabulously well in a Clásico. Ibrahimovic, for an example.
In the case of Neymar, there is very little left for him to achieve. Although there is one thing, which is to be the disputed star of an El Clásico. Though he has scored in two clashes against Real Madrid, he is yet to manage to set his individual mark on a Clásico with a remarkable display, like several of his compatriots did.
The most popular of these was Ronaldinho. His performance at the Bernabéu stadium on 19th November 2005 is still recollected. He was capable of doing so as he toyed with the Real Madrid defence and netted two goals.
Rivaldo and Romario are two other suitable examples; although, in spite of his amazing technique, Ronaldo failed to forge his legacy for a Clásico. He did score goals, but he was not successful to meet the challenge that now poses before Neymar – to be the best in the clash between the best.
Neymar and Messi and their fathers are being dogged by allegations of tax evasion, so much so that a) it is a surprise that they still can express effortless play on the field and b) it is possible that either can be hounded out of Catalonia while still at their best form.
Here is a look at how Neymar has destroyed Real Madrid over and over again. Enjoy!
